Potential for Improvement
Visited with family for a Sunday lunch. The staff were friendly, but the food quality fell short, with cold plates and limited portions. Try the breakfast menu instead, which looks promising. It’s a charming spot, but be prepared for possible inconsistencies in service and meal prep.

An Unforgettable Stay!
From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was impeccable. Enjoyed a delightful full English breakfast daily. it truly set the tone for the day! The carvery was a highlight—tender meats and flavorful sides. Pro tip, Don't miss the cozy resident-only beer garden for a peaceful evening.

i had an enjoyable stay at the red lion! the room was spacious with a large, comfy bed and great tea/coffee facilities. the pub served tasty food quickly, and i loved the lovely garden area outside. rachel was exceptional, really making us feel welcome. it's super convenient with a park & ride just across the road.
the only downside was the noisy extractor fans, but overall i can recommend.

York's food scene is a treasure trove! The Red Lion's bar area is a spot for regional ales and hearty fare, truly bringing the local flavors to life. Plus, the outdoor dining is a peach when the sun's out! Not to mention, the cozy vibes make it perfect for a winding down after exploring the city.
Now, let's not pretend it was all rosy. The breakfast spread needed a kick, but honestly, the soul of this pub makes up for it all! A firm mattress also made me wish for a softer sleep, but these little nips didn’t spoil the whole fun.

The room was expansive with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom amenities, making for a relaxing space after exploring the area. The bar, however, was disappointing with only one ale available and an atmosphere that felt underwhelming. Breakfast was a letdown. the 'full English' was lackluster at best, served hastily and lacking freshness, which could be improved significantly to enhance the overall experience.

Had a great time at this charming place! The homemade tomato soup and sausage bread roll were highlight meals for me. the full English breakfast was exactly what I needed in the morning. The room was spacious, but the photos made it look a tad more updated than it actually was. I'd definitely come back again!
